Spring Fling Blog Hop

Welcome to the Spring Fling Blog Hop!

SFH redone

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had Spring Fever for about two months. Give me sunshine with a spattering of rain showers, the smell of freshly mowed grass and a rainbow of flowers. And romance, of course. I asked Kalila and Lydon, the main characters of Wonderfully Wicked, their thoughts on Spring.

CJ: Kalila, if you could go anywhere with your true love in Spring, where would you go?

Kalila:  First off, true love? Don’t think so. Romance really isn’t my thing, which is for the best, believe me. As far as places go, I freakin’ love those green fields with herds of pure-as-the-driven-snow lambs. Make me hungry for Gyros. And hillsides of daffodils are awesome. Did you know daffodil bulbs are toxic? Good fact to remember in case of emergencies. If I actually had some dude I’d want to go someplace with–purely fantasy here, got it?–I’d head off to the Maldives Islands. Maybe an ocean of starlight would keep my nightmares at bay for a while. Hey, a girl can dream.

CJ:  Okay then. On to Lydon. What’s your favorite thing about Spring?

Lydon: I prefer winter. Darker days, darker dreams. Spring brings out the feel-good bubblies in humans. Happy people don’t have many nightmares, and when you need nightmares to survive…yeah. This Spring might be different, though. I found this feisty dreamcaster who isn’t afraid to play, and her nightmares might be just what I need. Maybe she’ll become my favorite thing about Spring.

What’s your favorite thing about Spring?

  1. Love the Poe journal! Girl, you are SO creative.

    1. CJ Burright says:

It’s going to be a struggle to give it up because it’s so freakin’ cool! I’m going to have to buy one for myself, get my black list on paper. 🙂

  2. Missy Morrison Goodsell says:

My favorite thing about spring is all the new life that is coming up all around me… the new plants & foliage ( even though my allergies don’t much like it LOL), all the new birds & other animals that wander through my property for to watch.

    1. CJ Burright says:

I have to agree with you, Missy…except the deer get a little too pushy and think they can just waltz in and eat my roses and vegetables. They’re cute until they destroy my garden. Then, it’s war.

  3. Lori H says:

    All the beautiful flowers 🙂

    1. CJ Burright says:

Can’t go wrong with flowers, no matter what season it is. Nice to “see” you, Lori! 🙂

  4. Piroska says:

My favourite thing about spring is gardening. Flowers. Daffodils.

    1. CJ Burright says:

Yep, yep, and yep. Now, if only I had enough time to tackle all my weeds and get my veggie garden planted. Thanks for popping in!

  5. Rachel D. says:

My favorite thing about spring is hearing all the birdsongs.

    1. CJ Burright says:

Unless it’s that extremely obnoxious bird outside my window at the break of dawn…I need a scarecrow or something. 🙂

  6. vennie martinisi says:

My favorite thing about spring is the birds chirping and the smell of newly cut grass and flowers!

    1. CJ Burright says:

The fresh-cut grass always makes me itch to play softball…not that I’ve played for years, but I still miss it. Thanks for dropping in!

  7. My favorite thing about spring is the flowers 🙂

    1. CJ Burright says:

Yep, all those colors are hard to beat! They inspire me to get out and destroy all the weeds surrounding the flowers. Hope it’s a fabulous, sunny spring day in your neck of the woods, Joleene. 🙂

  8. Madison Sevier says:

Everything about Spring is my favorite…especially that it leads to hot, Summer nights when anything can happen <3

Fabulous post and thank you so much for the chance to win <3

    Happy Spring <3

    1. CJ Burright says:

Oh, so you just want to skip over Spring and get on to the good stuff, huh? 🙂 I do love my summer nights too! Thanks for coming by, Madison!

  9. I love seeing the tiny green shoots emerge from the brown limbs, finally giving us a burst of color. The flowers creeping through the frozen ground provide additional flashes of brightness, and though I know their lives may be cut short by frost and snow, I love them all the more for bringing a reminder that warm weather will soon scare the snow away for good.

    1. CJ Burright says:

I think you’re a poet, Michelle! Beautiful words. I like the buds on trees too, and the crocuses that sprout up through the snow, little reminders that winter is almost over. Nice to hear from you! 🙂

  10. Brandi says:

My favorite thing about spring is the warmer weather!!! I’m sick of the cold & ready to put the boots away! =)

Thanks for having this giveaway! =)

  11. Linda S Moore says:

My favorite thing about Spring is the warmer weather, the beautiful blooms that start popping up everywhere and finally seeing the Sun again. Seems like this winter the Sun was in hiding just about every day.. Thank you for this awesome giveaway and good luck to everyone.. 🙂 Lsmoore43(@)yahoo(.)com

    1. CJ Burright says:

Ah, yes. The sun. I’m having trouble remembering what it looks like. 🙂 Thanks for dropping in, Linda!

  15. Melissa C. says:

    I love the weather,

    1. CJ Burright says:

Since I’m in Oregon, we get an interesting mix of rain and sun, sometimes at the same time. I love the rain almost as much as I love the sun, so long as there’s some warm breaks in between the downpours. Happy Friday, Melissa!

  16. Donna Newman says:

My favorite thing about spring is the warmer weather. I love that journal that is such a cool prize.

    1. CJ Burright says:

I’m needing some sunshine too. I think the winter has given me a Vitamin D deficiency. Happy Friday and thanks for swinging by, Donna! 🙂

Oh, me too! There’s something about those baby-pink blossoms that scream Spring. Happy Friday!

  18. JanD says:

    1. CJ Burright says:

Most definitely…laying in the grass with the sun on my face. Heaven. So long as the spiders keep away. Thanks for dropping in! 🙂

When I lived up North, my favorite thing about Spring was the flowers blooming.
Now that I live in Florida, it is all of the “snow birds” going home. Lol.
I enjoy the tourists, but it gets a bit hectic while driving and shopping. 🙂
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

    1. CJ Burright says:

Great answer! I know I’d get sick of tourists if I had to share my world with them. Thanks for stopping in, Tina – good luck!
