Little Things Blog Hop

FB Little Things Banner

Hey, everyone – welcome to my stop on the Little Things Blog Hop! I’m C.J. Burright and I write NA paranormal and fantasy romance. Besides the fabulous goodies offered in the grand prize and fun stuff from the gaggles of other authors and bloggers (there’s over a hundred – whew!), I’ve got a little somethin’ somethin’ too. You’ll have to scroll to the end to see what it is…you guessed it. I like torturing people. 🙂 There’s also a Facebook party going on right here, and jump along to the next blog right here. In case you get lost along the way, here’s the link to all the stops. Winners will be randomly chosen by April 6, but I may choose my lucky winner earlier, ’cause that’s how I roll.

There are so many little things that make life rock, it’s impossible to focus on one. Right? My list includes the first few that popped to mind right away, and I bet at least one of these little nuggets of goodness affect you too.

Laughter

Besides being fun, laughter has oodles of benefits. it boosts your immune system, triggers endorphins, lowers stress, and makes you more attractive. Plus, it’s totally free. So yuck it up, people!

Cats

My cat herd minions bring me so much joy. And fur all over my black clothes, paws in my papers, and an occasional wet nose in the middle of the night. They make every day brighter. They look like a wild bunch, don’t they? 🙂

Coffee

Hubby would undoubtedly agree that existence is much improved with coffee. Especially when married to an anti-morning zombie who can only speak in growls and grumbles until that first sip of life-giving elixir.

You know I’m right. What’s great about book boyfriends is the opportunity to watch them, gush all over them, fantasize…all without worry of a stalking order. 🙂 I have too many to count, but some of my all-time faves are Jericho Barrons, Reyes Farrow, Eric Northman, and my newest crush–Rhysand from A Court of Thorn and Roses by Sarah Maas.

So that’s a few of my favorite little things that make life shiny. What are some of yours? Or give me the name of your number 1 book boyfriend – maybe I can find a new one to add to the list!

Don’t forget to enter the rafflecopter contest exclusive to my blog for C.J.’s Happy Pack – a little bit of everything above…humor (no, that’s not really a porn book), a cat flash drive (useful AND cute), $5 Starbucks card (slurp), and a limited-edition cover copy of Wonderfully Wicked, so you can add sexy assassin (or dream vampire, depending on your viewpoint) Lydon to your book boyfriend list. Cat photobombing in background not included.

Good luck and stay happy, people!

    1. CJ Burright says:

      Yay for book boyfriends!

  6. Oh my gosh. CJ. Your herd! They’re adorable <3 My herd drives me batty some days but they sure make me happy (and laugh) too. Can't imagine life without them. Thanks for the giveaway! (acade29@gmail.com)

    1. CJ Burright says:

Oh, my herd has days where I threaten to go to a no-pet policy, but they know I’m bluffing. Your herd, though, is waaaaay bigger than mine! I’m not sure I could handle that many…at least not until I’m officially the local crazy cat lady. 🙂

  7. I have so many book boyfriends in my stable that I am pretty much a slut!

    1. CJ Burright says:

Hahaha! No such thing, Deb! Book boyfriends don’t judge and they love to share, so…you’re an angel. 🙂

      1. I am all for the sharing of the stable bbf’s! Not with other with other people but with each other!

I love cats! No that is not random! I was checking out your kitties! My Mr. Whiskers died 2 years and I decided it was best not to get another one. He was 19 and no other kitty could replace him. Of course never say never! They do have a place here in Portland that is open to the public and you can go in and play with the cats and love them up. The price to get in helps to feed and care for them and I think it’s an awesome idea! My neighbor has 2 cats though and I send goodies to them. Of course now I don’t go for the cats I go for the baby who has just started walking that is oddly enough named after my dog. I knew they loved my June but…… her name is Juniper McLane Metilus Lorenzen. I call her Mac…it’s to weird calling her by the dog’s name! LOL

        1. CJ Burright says:

Awww, so sad about Mr. Whiskers! I know how you feel…I lost one of my cats to a coyote and really, really wasn’t ready for another one, but hubby and daughter had other plans. They came home with two rescue cats (both of which adopted me as their “person”), and some months later, hubby came home with two more. Yet, somehow I’M the cat lady! 🙂 And hello, fellow Oregonian *waves*. I love how Portland has so many innovative ideas, and that’s a great one! That’s funny your neighbors named their child the same as your dog. 🙂 Our friends once had a poodle with the same name as my sister, and of course I never let her live that one down. It’s a sisterly duty.

  8. Whitney cannavina says:

Thank You for the chance #littlethings. My happy place is my son. His hugs and kisses make my day. Reading and writing are next. My favorite author and read right now is Love Hurtd by Mandi Beck. Deacon Love is the perfect book BF 🙂

    1. CJ Burright says:

Ooh, a new potential book boyfriend! I haven’t heard of this one, so I’ll have to check it out. I’m with you – kids add sunshine to our lives. I didn’t include daughter in my list because I figure she’s in the “Big Things” category. 🙂 Thanks for the BBF referral, and good luck!

  9. Ruth Limeburner says:

Thanks for the giveaway! Love your cat pics! I have two rescue cats, one male and one female. Raven, the younger female keeps Cotton active by chasing him. She also, likes to chase her own tail. Everything and I mean everything is a toy to her. She likes to climb into empty soda “cube” boxes, so cute. The cat flash drive is too cute!

    1. CJ Burright says:

Thanks, Ruth! Sometimes they let me get a photo before they scatter. 🙂 I love that you have rescue cats too, and awesome names. Thanks for stopping in!

I love the sound of my grandchildren laughing and the youngest one cooing. My little princess (my cat) cuddles makes things better.
    Thank you for the chance

    1. CJ Burright says:

That happy baby coo is definitely one of the best sounds in the world! Good luck, and thanks for dropping by. 🙂

  12. Grace Hart says:

    First, 3 furbabies isn’t a herd. 9 (which I have) is.. Lol
My family of hubby & furbabies make me happy! Along with music, I am a rock chick after all!
Thank you for participating in this hop!

    1. CJ Burright says:

I concede to your superior-sized herd, Grace! Are you sure nine isn’t more of a mob than a herd…? 🙂 Music is also on my list of happiest things – I ALWAYS have music on. Thanks for stopping by the blog!

      1. Grace Hart says:

Organized Chaos as I’m the top bitch in this house… Lol
        2 dogs (huskies) & 7 cats
& that doesn’t include hubby or dad!

        1. CJ Burright says:

Hahaha! Someone’s got to be at the top of that crazy totem pole! My daughter used to complain about that very subject every time she had to clean the cat box. She’d grumble that there’s no question where she stood in rank, since she was the one cleaning up cat poop. Smartass. 🙂

  13. Girl every time I come to your blog I think, we have got to hang out!

    1. CJ Burright says:

Aw, shucks. You’re making me blush, Deb. 🙂 And Portland isn’t that far away!

  14. Sheila M.Y says:

    my family 🙂

    1. CJ Burright says:

Yes, definitely family, although I count them in the “Big Things” category. Thanks for chiming in, Sheila!

  15. Darcy Thorn says:

LOve this one! My favorites are my dogs, my cute puppy who is 70 lbs and runs into everthing and jumps like she is gazelle.! I have a tormented cat named Fred who I adopted one very early morning on my way to the ER , she was outside the door of Sheetz when I went to get my gallon of coffee and moved to my front wheel of my car, Had to take him home, He hides under my table away from the puppy!

    1. CJ Burright says:

A 70 lb…puppy? That’s going to be a big doggie! Our boxers do the gazelle imitation in tall grass – so funny to see them bounding in and out of sight. 🙂 Awwww, Fred sounds like he found a good home! All except one of my cats disapprove of the dogs, and the oddball merely tolerates them. There’s a lot of taunting going on from both sides, but it’s usually not serious. So glad you stopped by, and have a fabulous week!

  16. Darcy Thorn says:

Noah Cutter is my most recent book boyfriend. Forgot to add him! 🙂

    1. CJ Burright says:

Another book boyfriend! I’ll have to look him up…

  17. Sharon Keen Walker says:

    1. CJ Burright says:

Kids are definitely on the happy list…well, when they’re being angels, anyway. 🙂 Thanks for stopping in, and good luck in the giveaway!

  18. Jo Anne Potter Vincenti says:
