Good luck on landing the grand prize, a Kindle Fire HDX 7” plus lots of awesome books to go with it!! My apologies, but winners of items in need of shipping must be in the US or Canada. Shipping costs are a bummer. Want to know the hop rules and how it works? Follow the link to the Safari Heat site. And on to the fun!
In honor of all the glamour and glitz of the yule season (and the fabulous Naughty and Nice blog hop), I sat down with the main characters from Wonderfully Wicked (in separate rooms, of course), and asked them two quick questions. Tag along!
CJ: How do you celebrate the holidays?
Kalila: “Celebrate. Right.” Arches eyebrow. “It’s always party time for me. Nothing better than sharing snoozes with my freakin’ nightmares, fighting to keep them in. Snow angels and sparklies don’t slow them down. If you want to get me a present, find a cure.” Taps finger on chin. “But I do love the seasonal candy cane mochas.”
Lydon: “I don’t do holidays. Great season for nightmares, though. Fruitcake sends spikes of fear into a surprising number of people, not to mention the horrifying scenario of a weekend with family. I once picked up from a lone man’s dreams a flock of carnivorous snowmen, Randolph the demon reindeer, and a four-eyed punk toting a Red Rider hellfire bazooka – all in the same night. Score. My nightmare collection usually doubles during the winter festivities.”
CJ: Ohhhh-kay. Well, if you could choose one person to spend the holidays with, who would it be?
Kalila: “I’m not one for gush and mush, but in between my nightmares I actually had a good dream. Smokin’ good. Of this guy…” Shudders and glares. “Forget it. I spend the holidays with Mel, of course. She’s my family.”
Lydon: “There is a particular dreamcaster whose nightmares I recently invaded.” Smirks. “Tasty. I’d like to explore her…” coughs “er…cache more. Can’t, though. She’s marked to die. Shame.” Shrugs. “I’d keep her if I could, but disobeying my master? Not conducive to a V’alkara’s health.”
CJ: I guess Kalila and Lydon don’t waste much time bothering with the holidays. Can’t really blame them – they’ve got issues.
What about you? What was the best present you ever received? Comment to be entered for the grand prize, and don’t forget to leave your email address and country. If your info is wrong and you win, you’ll get skipped over, which would suck, right?
You don’t have to, but earn extra drawing points (and brownie points! Plus I’ll love you forever) if you sign up for my blog, like my FB page, and join the growing ranks of Twitter groupies. I promise I won’t bombard you with annoying info – I’m too busy writing. 🙂 Be sure to note your extra credit brownie points (followed blog , FB, Twitter, etc.) in the comments! I have an exclusive prize to give away too, and one more point for that if you sign up for my newsletter…
An ornament to match Lydon’s eyes and dark chocolate covered coffee beans. Kalila takes coffee in any form possible.
My best present? I walked into the garage and found a car with a giant red ribbon on its hood. Best. Present. Ever. My hubby rocks.
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY! AND PASS THE LOVE ON…

We always celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve that way we can just relax Christmas Day and enjoy it 🙂
Thanks, Erika! Great idea – relax on Christmas. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as the case may be), I have family segments which require visiting. It’s a lot of hustle and bustle, but still lots of fun. Have a great Christmas!!
Entertaining post, CJ! My best present…In Grade One, Santa arrived and gave me three lovely books. While everyone else in the class was oohing and aahing over their dolls and other toys, I was in awe of the fact that Santa knew I loved to read.
Ha! That Santa, he just knows things, huh? Some of my best presents, I have to admit, were books. Thanks for coming by, Joanne!
The best present I ever received was a computer. :o)
That’s a great present! Happy holidays!

Oh, that’s a fabulous present and a great reminder you can pass down to your daughter (wipes stray tear away). Thanks for dropping in, Charlotte – and for following my blog!
GOOD LUCK ALL. IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO WIN
I could think of worse presents than a Kindle and free books (socks, underwear, fruitcake). Good luck, Linda!
Thank u for the chance. My name is Theresa Beck theresabeck14@yahoo.com is my email. My best gift was the day I brought my daughter home from the hospital. It was the day before Christmas 16 years ago. Best gift ever.
A daughter is definitely an unbeatable present – mine arrived about a month after Christmas almost 19 years ago. Time flies! Happy holidays, and good luck with the giveaway!
THANKS CJ! IT WAS MY ONE FANTASY AS I FELL IN LOVE WITH ALASKA WHILE WATCHING LOVE BOAT!
Did you get a cruise to Alaska, Linda? That’s awesome! I used to watch The Love Boat too, and if I was really good, I got to stay up to watch Fantasy Island. Da plane, da plane!! 🙂
YES!! ME TOO. FIRST 3 DAYS WAS FUN BUT 50 PEOPLE INCLUDING ME GOT A STOMACH VIRUS AND WE WERE QUARTINE THE LAST 3 DAYS TO OUR ROOMS, I ONLY GOT 200 BUCKS ON A FUTURE CRUISE FOR MY SUFFERING!
Ack – a dream turned into a nightmare – what a bummer, Linda! Quarantined, sick, and only $200 bucks in return…totally ripped off, I’d say. Hopefully the days before were fabulous!
THEY WERE. SAW WHALES, SEA LIONS, AND HUSKIE WHO CHECK/GREETED ME. NEXT DAY FULL MASGE THEN WAS SICK. THEY COOKED FOR ME AS I AM ALLERGICTO SPIXES, PEPPER AND PAPRIKA, THEY CUT MY FOOD AS I’M SEMI-PARALYZED SO DAUGHTER COULD ENJOY HER FOOD.
At least they treated you like a queen BEFORE imprisoning you. 🙂 My sister lives in AK – I should really take a cruise over to visit her.

Congratulations, Kimberly! Woot-woot! And thanks for all the extra brownie point follows! 🙂
I follow your blog, newsletter, etc. I want the book. Now would be good. I’m having issues with delayed gratification; I’ve been channeling my children. Okay, on to the question. Hmmm…best present ever…I’ve had awesome gifts of jewelry, and I love jewelry. But, year before last, my health had become so bad I could barely hold a book, thus taking away the one remaining hobby left to me. That Christmas, my husband gave me a kindle, thus reuniting me with my books. I’m wanting print books now, but only because I miss holding them and touching them, etc. I love my Kindle. His thoughtfulness at that moment in time and that gift, giving me back something so precious to me meant more to me than anything else he could have given me. michelle_willms(at)yahoo(dot)com.
Your hubby sounds like a keeper, Michelle (sniffle) – I’m just loving all these touching present stories! I resisted getting a kindle for so long, it felt like sacrilege or something not to be reading on paper. I still prefer books, but I’ve made peace with my kindle now. Thanks for all the love! 🙂
My best present ever was: 2 huge boxes under the tree that couldn’t be picked up they were so heavy, I had to go over to the tree to open them and they were full of books.
